National Flag & Monuments: Pride of a Country

Every free nation of the world has its own flag. It is a symbol of a free country. Every colour, stripe and image in a national flag signifies the unique strength, culture and faith of that country. If the unfurling of the Tricolour fills our hearts with patriotism, the sight of Union Jack evokes boundless sentiments in the English hearts. The Stars and Stripes mean a world to the Americans and the Star and the Crescent calls forth the best bravery in Islam.

Thoroughly enjoying the ISA Project, ‘Festivals: A Celebration of Life’, this week the students of VI & VII ofour school made flagsand famous monuments of the 7 countries under study. Working in groups of six each, the creative hands madeTajMahal (India), the Statue of Liberty (U.S.A), MachhuPichhu (Peru), Great Budhha of Japan, the Giant Teapot (Qatar), Independence Arch (Ghana) and Lisbon Cathedral (Portugal).

It was a delight to see students delve into research and project work. Awe-struck by their own creative work and enlightened by knowledge that lay beyond borders, these students can now identify these countries’ flags and speak for hours on their national monuments.

What inspires us- the teachers- more is their desire to cover the whole world under ISA Projects! Take a sneak peak.
